Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs announces the start of a process to revise the accreditation standards for the First Professional Degree Program in Pharmacy
October 1, 2010The Baccalaureate Degree in Pharmacy accreditation standards, currently in use, have been in place for since 2006, but have not undergone major revision in more than ten years. The CCAPP Standards Committee has concluded that these standards have served pharmacy schools in Canada well, but with considerable change within the profession it is time for an update which clearly identifies the expectations of each standard.

Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs extends the term of the provisional accreditation award of all Pharmacy Technician Programs originally reviewed in 2008 by one year
June 1, 2010At its June 2010 meeting, the CCAPP board approved a motion to extend the term of the provisional accreditation award of all pharmacy technician programs originally reviewed in 2008. Programs that were successful in receiving provisional accreditation award status in 2008 were given a three-year term, expiring in 2011. In order to ensure that the next evaluation of these programs for full accreditation is conducted using the new CCAPP pharmacy technician accreditation standards becoming effective in January 2012, the Board has extended the term of the current provisional award for all of these programs to December 2012.
